Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety
Program ending December 2016

Get Involved

There are a number of ways that you can get involved in the Be Bright safety programs. This page will detail opportunities for parents, schools and the community to get involved.

Parents:

The Valley Metro Be Bright program seeks the involvement of parents to help ensure safe behaviors in children. Parent involvement in the Be Bright program is vital to its success and is definitely encouraged.

If you are a parent who would like more information on bicycle and pedestrian safety for your children or training on how to properly fit a helmet, check a bike, or would like to volunteer at any local events, please contact the Valley Metro Be Bright program.

Schools and Communities:

The Valley Metro Be Bright program strives to bring local schools and communities together, build safer environments and increase physical activity by walking and bicycling. Implementing various elements of the Be Bright program, such as developing school travel plans for students, can provide a road map for schools to build successful walking and biking programs. Developing strong partnerships between parents, faculty members, students and surrounding communities can make for a happier and safer living environment for everyone.

If you are a parent, community member, or faculty member of a school that you feel would benefit from Valley Metro’s Be Bright program, please contact us for assistance.

Neighborhood Rides:

Valley Metro works with cities, clubs, neighborhoods and employers to produce fun and interesting rides around the valley. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced cyclist, there’s always a new bridge to discover or a canal to explore. To suggest a location or find out about upcoming rides contact Suzanne Day at sday@valleymetro.org or 602.523.6063.
